2 T white sugar

1 ½ oz white rum

Simple syrup

We generally stock simple syrup but it is also easy to make on your stovetop.  And less expensive.

Combine 1 cup each of sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.  Reduce the heat to a simmer and stir until sugar is dissolved.  Allow to cool and store in a clean jar for up to a month.
